This podcast channel (web feed) includes video versions of all presentations published during the 2007 K-12 Online Conference. Learn more on www.k12onlineconference.org. The K-12 Online Conference invites participation from educators around the world interested in innovative ways Web 2.0 tools and technologies can be used to improve learning. This FREE conference is run by volunteers and open to everyone. The 2007 conference theme is “Playing with Boundaries”. This year’s conference begins with a pre-conference keynote the week of October 8, 2007. The following two weeks, October 15-19 and October 22-26, forty presentations will be posted online to the conference blog (this website) for participants to download and view. Live Events in the form of three “Fireside Chats” and a culminating “When Night Falls” event will be announced. Everyone is encouraged to participate in both live events during the conference as well as asynchronous conversations.

Once there was a Sidh Yogi was becoming very old. Before his life came to an end he was blessed with a visit to Guru Amar Das. Guru ji granted him the blessing that he could be re-born in to the Guru's family. Soon the Guru had a grandson, that was the Yogi, and named him Anand. On the spot Guru ji recited Anand Sahib.

Adi Momo was a really scary mean person. Whenever he would come around the village he would steal from everyone and beat them. One man was very forgiving and wise. He just starting singing Adi Momo's name. Singing and singing..... something happened. Adi Momo did something no one had ever seen him do before...

Baba Atal was the son of Guru Hargobind. He was very wise for his age, he was adventurous and loved to play games and have fun. One of his play-mates, Mohan, was bitten by a cobra in the night. When Babal Atal came to play with his friend in the morning he learned that Mohan had died. All he wanted was to continue playing with his friend so he said, "Get up Mohan, let's go play." You will never guess what happened next.

Guru Hargobind announced to his Sikhs that he wanted them to come in his presence and recite Jap Ji Sahib. When Sikhs would come and recite, he could tell how well they understood the teachings. One man did such a wonderful Japji that Guru Hargobind knew of no other offering he could give. So the Guru was about the offer the throne Baba Nanak to him...

During the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh there was a famous bandit stealing from people. The Maharaja offered "I will offer two villages to anyone who catches this robber alive." The bandit in return posted his own offer, "If anyone can catch me alive I will give them the throne of Lahore." Along came a brave Singh to battle with the bandit to stop his reign. Will the Singh win and be given the throne of Lahore?

Makkan Shah was devoted man who was a rich traveller. Once he was sailing in his ship a great storm almost sank his ship. He prayed to the Guru to save him and miraculously the storm calmed. He promised to give the Guru an offering...... the only problem was this: After the 8th Guru left his body no one really knew who was the 9th Guru was......but the new Guru must live in the city of Bakala.........

Guru Harkrishan was only 5 years old when he received the Guruship. Once a very learned Hindu high priest came to see him. He thought the Guru was only a little boy who couldn't know as much as he did. So he challenged the Guru to interpret the Gita with him. Guru Harkrishan ji did something the Brahman didn't expect. He didn't just talk, he showed the man that God is in every one....

Guru Nanak began to tell everyone "There is no Hindu and there is no Muslim." A Muslim leader wanted to know what he meant, so he invited Guru Nanak to do an evening prayer with him. Guru Nanak just stood there during the prayer instead of bowing. Afterward the man tried to confront Guru Nanak on his disrespectful behavior. Guru Nanak's mind didn't change, though maybe his did.

Bhai Mehtab was a fearless son of Guru Gobind Singh. When the Hari Mandir Sahib was taken over by a crude Moghul ruler, it turned in to a house of sense gratification. Bhai Mehtab couldn't stand it when he heard this news. He told the people in the village, "Start an Akhand Poth, I will either die or bring back this rulers head by the time it is finished." And to Bhai Mehtab galloped on horse to Amritsar.....

Baba Deep Singh was a beloved child of Guru Gobind Singh, who's commitment was so strong, his word always came true. When the Hari Mandir Sahib was taken over by invaders he promised to fight until his head bowed at the threshold. In the battle field he fought fearlessly and sent many men to their Maker. Then he faught the general of the other army. Baba Deep's head was cut off in this fight........... then a miracle happened......

The wise and fearless master who came to be known as 'Buddha', ventured in to the woods where a ferocious murderer lived. This murderer found he could not scare this calm master. Buddha politely gave him a lesson which impressed the murderer so much he changed his ways. He never stole or killed again, instead he began listening to divine teachings and giving to charity.

As is Sufi tradition, Bhikan Shah and his followers bowed towards Mecca every day. One day this respected Sufi elder bowed towards Patna. He said, "If you could see what has been born in this city, you would bow towards it as well." He decided he must go see this child Gobind Rai who would later be Guru. When with Gobind Rai he gave a funny test.....

Guru Ram Das had sent his youngest son, Arjun, away to do some work for the Guru. From his longing to be with his father he wrote a series of beautiful letters. His older brother became very jealous and showed himself not worthy of the Guruship. Arjun wrote the letters with such devotion and longing that they have the power of 1,000 shabds. For this reason it came to be called "Shabd Hazare".The Gaddi was given to him and he became Guru Arjun Dev ji.

After Guru Gobind Singh's time, during the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, there was a purely devoted fearless Khalsa named Akali Phula Singh. After taking a hukam from the Guru he wouldn't delay his battle plan to attack at dawn. He was the only one to charge in to battle against the Afghan army at first. He fought bravely without fear of death. He said, "The Khalsa of Guru Gobind Singh can do anything."

Not long ago in Amritsar, there was a group of people called the 'Nirankaaris'. They did great insults to the Guru like putting a man above the Guru that they said is the living Guru. Some Khalsa marched in protest to them carrying this man in a Palki at Baisakhi. The Nirankaaris shot at these men and many of them died. They died fearlessly and they never forgot the Guru.

Guru Amar Das, the third Guru, was becoming old and it was time to decide who had the selflessness to carry on the light of Guru Nanak. He tested both of his son-in-laws, Bhai Rama and Bhai Ram Das. He made them build platforms for him to meditate on. When the son-in-laws made the platforms, the Guru rejected their work. He continued to have them build and tested their devotion to see who would truly be selfless.......
