Once, when Guru Nanak, Bala and Mardana were traveling through some woods, Mardana wanted to get something to eat. So he went by himself to see if he could find anything. A cannibal, who eats other people, captured him and tied him up. The Cannibal boiled a pot of oil that he was going to cook Mardana in. Guru Nanak felt the situation and came over to that very place. When the cannibal saw the Guru.... something wonderful happened....

Guru Nanak, Bala and Mardana were traveling to a distant land in India where people practiced black magic. Mardana asked to get some water from the city well. When he got there some girls thought he sounded funny. "Let's make him act like a sheep!", said one of the girls. She did some magic and he immediately started bleating like a sheep, "Baaa, baaha, bhaa...". Can Guru Nanak help Mardana and stop these sorceresses?

Once Guru Nanak was traveling with Mardana and Bala. A man on top of a hill wouldn't give them any water so Guru ji took a stick and made a spring of fresh water appear at the bottom of the hill. The man got very angry and pushed a huge boulder down the hill to crush the Guru. Everyone ran away... except for the Guru. Mardana cried, "Guru ji please move, the boulder is coming right towards you, please move." Why wasn't Guru ji moving?!

During the time of Guru Har Rai, the seventh Guru, there was a man. He was always busy with his life, working to provide for his family, but he really wanted to serve the Guru. He finally made time in his life to talk to the Guru. Guru ji gave him a letter and said, "I can teach you later, for now just give this letter to-" and he told him what village a Sikh lived in. So the man went to the village where the Sikh lived.... where there was quite a surprise for him!
God Provides To All
Guru Nanak used to travel all around the land with his companions. In one place the governor was a very strict and mean to all his servants. When Guru ji got to that place he was kindly asked to eat a meal by a very devoted man named Lalo, who was a carpenter. The governor, Malik Bhago, sent a messenger to invited the Guru to eat at a huge banquet where there would be a grand feast. The messenger was surprised when the Guru said "No"....

Bhai Ghaneya ji was a most serviceful Sikh. His mission in life was to serve all humans no matter what group they belonged to. During the time of Guru Gobind Singh, he could be seen giving water to wounded soldiers on the battle field. He helped both the Khalsa soldiers and the Moghul soldiers equally. Some of the Khalsa saw this and thought, "He's healing the enemy, we have very little water, we must tell the Guru about him." And so they did....

Once, the mother of a child named Farid said, "My child God gives sweets to those who meditate, why not try Simran?" So Farid sat down, closed his eyes and began feeling inside himself. When he opened his eyes there would be sweets in a bowl right in front of him. One day he said, "I don't need to eat sugar, I've tasted something much sweeter." Can you guess what was even sweeter than sugar?
The Sweetness of the Naam
A noble King had all his subject do a fast in honor of Vishnu on the day of Ekadasi. There was one man who didn't do the fast though, he was a Sikh of Guru Nanak. "I am constantly fasting. I eat little food and sleep little. I fast from any and all temptation that distract my devotion to God," explained the man. The King was very impressed and wanted very much to meet this Guru. But how would he ever meet this famous saint known as 'Baba Nanak'?

Bhai Gopal was a simple man, a Sikh of the Fifth Guru. Once a man came his store so Bhai Gopal could store his 500 coins. But Bhai Gopal was busy and forgot to put it in a safe place. Later the man came back and asked for his coins. Bhai Gopal said, "I'm sorry friend it looks like I don't have your coins." The man got angry and said, "I had 500 coins, I'll report you to the emperor!" The emperor devised an interesting way to find the truth...

Once there was a king who thought he was the greatest man in the world. His adviser informed him that there was in fact a greater man than him. The king greatly wanted to know who this could possibly be, so they both went out to meet this person. It turned out to be an old man. He was very humble and poor, but he was a man of God. See how the old man taught the king what greatness truly is...
A Truly Great Man
A Sikh of Guru Amar Das ji named Bhai Sachan Sach was very devoted to the Guru. Outside of Goindwal there was a crazy woman who people thought was possessed by demons. Even though this woman had attacked Bhai Sachan Sach, the Guru told him, "Take my sandal, when she attacks you, simply touch her with it." Bhai Sachan Sach at first didn't want to, but he listened to his Guru.... then when he was in the jungle.... she attacked him....

Once a farmer found something in his field. It made a bunch of smoke and turned in to a giant. The giant said, "I will do anything you wish." The farmer was surprised and thought, "This sounds too good to be true." It did seem to good to be true because then the giant said, "But if you don't give me anything to do, I will get hungry. If I get hungry I'll have to eat you." How will the farmer keep the giant busy??

This is a story of two families. One family worked hard and used team-work. They were like the fingers of a fist that can't be broken apart. The other didn't like to work hard and argued with each other. They were like a hand where the fingers don't agree to do the same thing. Five Fingered Family
Once a Brahman visited Siri Guru Gobind Rai. He was concerned for the Guru's safety, "These Rajas are responsible for your father's death. They are looking for a reason to go to battle with you as well. You must pay respects to the Saturn god, Shani Dev. Shani Dev will destroy your enemies so you can be happy." Guruji agreed to the ritual. The Brahman gave the ritual items to some Sikhs for the ceremony, but they had something different in mind.....
The Karas of the Guru
Bibi Shanti was a devoted Sikh of Guru Hargobind ji. She taught her son, Pulla, that if he believed strongly, then surely the Guru would come and visit them. One glorious day Guru Hargobind and some Sikhs really did come and visit. Their humble prayers were answered. The Guru had them make langar and all the villagers experienced a miracle they wouldn't soon forget.
