Parents, educators, and policymakers are invited to read our blog, download our publications, and listen to our podcasts regarding special education and how it affects families, taxpayers, and society at large as well as how everyone can work together to deliver sound educational services to children with disabilities in a way that benefits society as a whole.
Making Special Education Actually Work
Although inclusive education of disabled children is now an accepted practice, it is often challenged by negative peer attitudes. Researchers at Tolouse University undertook an interventional study aimed at improving students’ attitudes towards their disabled peers.
Dr Peter Baxter, Editor-in-Chief of Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology, spoke to one of the authors of the study, Dr Emmanuelle Godeau (Research Unit on Perinatal Epidemiology, Tolouse University) and to Professor Peter Rosenbaum (Professor of Pediatrics and Developmental Pediatrics, McMaster University) who wrote a commentary on this study.

Ann Foundation: Serving Children with Disabilities Worldwide
Thank you for visiting the Never Give Up Foundation radio show. We will
provide a forum for at risk students, their parents, their educators, and their
employers to share successes, frustrations, questions, resources, and ideas. It
is the belief of the Never Give Up Foundation that children with disabilities,
children in foster care, and children who are experiencing difficulties in life have
many strengths on which to build their future success. The Never Give Up
Foundation is dedicated to address the emotional needs of students and their
parents as they learn to embrace their challenges, recognize their strengths,
and accept their unique educational needs so that they may advocate for
necessary and appropriate accommodations. Basically, the Never Give Up
Foundation challenges students, parents, educators, and employers to take the
“dis” out of “disability” and the “risk” out of “at-risk” and to define a student by
their abilities rather than their disabilities or challenges. On this radio show we
hope to have open and respectful conversations between students, parents,
family members, teachers, educators, employers, and anyone else who is
interested in meeting the needs of children.
