Dawson's Creek

Semper Fi
John Curry transformed ice skating from a dated sport into a new artistic medium. Coming out on the night of his Olympic win in 1976, he became the first openly gay Olympian in a time when homosexuality was not even fully legal.
The Ice King
In an unmarked office at the end of a dirt track, veteran activist David Kato labors to repeal Ugandas homophobic laws and liberate his fellow lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender men and women, or kuchus. But Davids formidable task just became more difficult. A new Anti-Homosexuality Bill proposes death for HIV-positive gay men, and prison for anyone who fails to turn in a known homosexual. Inspired by American evangelicals who have christened Uganda ground zero in their war on the homosexual agenda, the bill awaits debate in Ugandas Parliament. Meanwhile, local newspapers have begun outing kuchus with vicious fervor. David, Ugandas first openly gay man, is one of few who dare to publicly protest state-sanctioned homophobia. Working with an idiosyncratic clan of fellow activists, including retired Anglican Bishop Christopher Senyonjo, David fights Ugandas government and tabloids in the courts, on television, and at the United Nations. Because, he insists, if we keep on hiding, they will say were not here. But no one is prepared for the brutal murder that shakes the movement to its core and sends shock waves around the world. Call Me Kuchu depicts the last year in the life of a courageous, quick-witted and steadfast man whose wisdom and achievements were not fully recognized until after his death, and whose memory has inspired a new generation of human rights advocates.
Call Me Kuchu
For the minister's son, Brandon, this is a summer of awakening and acceptance of his homosexuality. For his father, this is a challenge to his roots in the bible as he interprets its posture on sexuality that ultimately drives him to "save" his son by killing his lover, Logan. In a broader exploration of "acceptance", a play-within-the-film recalls two landmark tragedies in the history of gay culture: the murder of Matthew Shepard, and the suicide of Tyler Clementi. An intertwined story traces an Erie Canal cruise operator's challenges in starting a "gay" cruise in presumed conservative Upstate New York. The message, "Accept What You Can't Change," is directed to non-gay individuals who need to better understand the reality of homosexuality; and to gay individuals who need to absolve themselves from the notion that being gay is somehow wrong and shameful.
Impossible Choice
An intimate coming of age story about Goyo, a gay teenager in an immigrant Mexican family from the trailer homes and grape fields of the migrant farming community of Californias Coachella Valley. Goyo has a hard time hiding his sexual preference from his father Ramon while secretly hoping for his acceptance. Ramon is not only against homosexuality but is physically and verbally abusive to his family. Matters get even worse when Goyo and his twin sister Rosa both fall in love with the ruggedly handsome Lucio. With only his next door neighbor and a small group of friends to rely on for support, Goyo is trapped and forced to face the tough reality of what his family wants him to be and who he is.Waterberry Tears explores the effect of outdated traditions and expectations on both men and women, bringing a family and community closer than expected. This gut-wrenching drama about immigrant workers used a cast of local non-professional actors in its attempt to explore the lives of immigrant families in the United States.
Waterberry Tears
Once the town hero, Ray returns home to Newfoundland following a drug conviction, only to have his wife Lillian leave him for another man and aspirations of stardom. With Lillian gone, Ray flails to try to find a replacement for her, while struggling against a growing awareness of his homosexuality. At loose ends for lack of guidance, his daughter Ruby in turn becomes increasingly curious about her own sexuality and, in a desperate plea for attention, puts herself in increasingly risky situations. She begins spending more and more time with Rays best friend Stuart, confined to a wheelchair following an accident that involved Ray. When Stuart finds himself attracted to Ruby, he leads the three of them towards a heartbreaking conclusion.

Mormon Stories was an Internet podcast and blog (i.e. radio/tv show/newspaper) created in 2005 by John Dehlin. At its inception, the project was meant to be: 1) An open and honest exploration of some of the tougher intellectual and cultural issues within Mormonism, and 2) A support to LDS Church members struggling in their faith/testimony over these difficult issues.
Over the course of three years, John conducted over 200 hours of audio and video interviews with various prominent Mormon academics, historians and critics. Some of the topics explored within the podcast include: Joseph Smith’s life, LDS polygamy, masonry, racism, feminism, homosexuality, apologetics, Book of Mormon historicity, the LDS missionary program, the reconciliation between faith and the intellect, and apostasy.
Some of the people interviewed include Richard and Claudia Bushman, Greg Prince, Todd Compton, Darius Gray and Margaret Young, Grant Palmer, Paul and Margaret Toscano, etc.
