Intolerance and bigotry are spreading through the U.S. at an alarming rate. One America’s Pearson Sharp takes a closer look at the concept of White Privilege, investigating how hate groups are using accusations of racism to divide the country.
White Privilege
A provocative and moving documentary that explores the lives of gay women living in the conservative, religious deep South and the unique hardships, bigotry, bullying, sexism, and racism they endure.
L Word Mississippi: Hate the Sin
Erasing Hate presents a first person look inside the dark world of racist skinheads, yet offers hope in a story of one man's escape from a life of violence, addiction and bigotry.
Erasing Hate
In one of his later novels, the master storyteller spins a tale of two children switched at infancy. A slave takes on the identity of master and heir while the rightful heir is condemned to live the life of a slave. Twain uses this vehicle to explore themes of nature vs. nurture, racial bigotry and moral relativism. The case of mistaken identity is a theme that Twain explored also in THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER; in THE TRAGEDY OF PUDD'NHEAD WILSON he turns the theme into a well-crafted detective story. It is unfortunate that this is one of Twain's lesser known works as it is one of his most enjoyable reads.
Librivox: Tragedy of Pudd'nhead Wilson, The by Twain, Mark
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts”. So said Mark Twain, and Kevin Dolgin has always agreed. Years ago, having decided to open his own mind, he found himself afflicted with a serious case of wanderlust, which he now hopes to spread to others through this show. A perfect travel companion, with only a slightly eccentric eye, Kevin reveals destinations around the world, seeking out and speaking with locals, inveterate travelers and the occasional oddball. Not so much concerned with the practicalities of travel, WANDERLUST is, itself, a little voyage into the odd corners, little known crannies and unexpected adventures of life .
